What We Do

According to the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), it is the duty of the County Recorder to record all deeds, mortgages, plats or other instruments of writing that are required or authorized by the ORC.

Not all public records are authorized for filing with the Recorder's Office. Please refer to the Services Information Guide if you are unsure where to file, or to obtain a copy, of a particular record.

The staff in our Customer Service Department is available to help you search public records. You may use this service by visiting the Recorder's Office or by calling the main number at (614) 525-3930. The staff in this area is not able to complete a title search for you. A title company will be needed to perform that service.
